Back in November of 2014, when the world first learned Kris Jenner and Corel Gamble were dating, the relationship was seen as a post-marriage rebound for Kris, and it was expected to last about as long as Kim Kardashian’s marriage to Kris Humphries.
All the hallmarks of a short-lived fling were there:
Corey was way younger than Kris; he wasn’t famous or particularly successful in his own right; the ink wasn’t dry on Kris’ divorce from Caitlyn Jenner.
And yet, for two and a half years, Kris and Corey held on through thick and thin.
While her daughters were initially skeptical of the 36-year-old social climber, they came to embrace him as a member of the family after he stood provided support through such traumatic events as Kim being held up at gunpoint in Paris.
So it’s somewhat surprising that new reports have Kris unexpectedly pulling the plug on the relationship and kicking Corey to the curb.
According to Radar Online, there was no cataclysmic event that brought the relationship to an end.
Kris simply decided that her time with Corey had run its course, and that she needs to focus on other priorities.
“Kris told Corey that she needed some space so that she could focus on her family and the show right now,” a source close to the situation tells Radar.
She said that she was getting side-tracked with this relationship and that she needed to put her family before her own needs and wants.”
Apparently, Kris’ decision was prompted in part by recent rumors that Keeping Up With the Kardashians will be canceled due to declining ratings.
“Kris just really wants to focus on the show right now to ensure that her family stays on air,” says the insider.
“They are not broken up yet because she has not decided to pull the plug on her and Corey completely, but a lot of people in her inner circle think that Corey was nothing but a rebound from Caitlyn anyways!”
